Since I am in the process of redecorating my home I have decided to go on a hunt for a couple sisel / jute / seagrass (whatever you want to call it these days rug) for my living room and bedroom. After purchasing two rugs, one by Pottery Barn and one by Pier1, I think I may have found the "right one". I have to admit the one from Pier1 is pretty soft and the weave is thick. The one from PB, is a bit rough and was a little stinky at first. I also found out from the manager at the Santa Monica West Elm, that they are coming out with an uber soft jute rug. Only problem is that it wont be in the stores for another few weeks, and I am on a mission to finish! So with all of this said, my question to you readers what is your favorite sisel / jute / seagrass rug and why? Which ones have you come across that are the best?

was a huge hit! We had at least over 100 people who attended as was by far one of the best events. Thank you so much to everyone at The Woven Company - Ken, Clair, and Will who I cannot thank enough! You guys out did yourself and I am not so sure we can top that event! Thank you to all the new members who introduced yourself to the group. We will be revamping the blog to make it more of a resource for potential clients customers and designers. Thank you to the members - without you these events would not exist. Some pics above from last nights event. And if you would like to become a member, please email me to join!

So I finally had two seconds to sit down and look at my new West Elm Catalog. As I was looking through it I came across a flyer for Casasugar.com, for a $5000 West Elm Sweepstakes. So as I'm viewing the home page I notice a post for Turquoise:Ikea Lamp, and low and behold is my post about the Ikea Lamp. What a kawinkie dink! So if you have a second check it out - its full of fashion, home decor and music. Thanks CasaSugar!
Come out to Abbot Kinney next Friday August 3rd as we celebrate our First Fridays event on the block. Shops are staying open late with deals, discounts, drinks and food. Join us at Turquoise for a glass of wine as we feature beautiful photography by Bueller Designs!
