Redecorating My Home Day 1

As some of you know I am redecorating my home. I am moving out almost everything and taking it to the showroom. So if there is an item that you may want from my house, most likely its now at Turquoise (if it hasn't already been sold) and remember all items are 40% off.

Anyhoo above is an image from my very bare living room. The walls got painted today and new rugs, mirrors and cabinets are coming in this week. I will be posting a picture at least once a week of the progress. So buh-bye grey and hello white! Enjoy!

Santa Monica Project

Yesterday I shot ALL day with my photographer and here is a sneak peek into my clients living room in Santa Monica. This project was a challenge for me since I normally don't decorate this traditional. My client can't believe how wonderful her space turned out. I hope you enjoy it!

Los Angeles Magazine Best of 2007 Party

Last night I attended the Los Angeles Magazine Party Best of 2007, (I received best new store) at the new X Bar at the Hyatt Regency. Make sure you pick up a copy, its full of everything to do, see and explore in LA!

Design 911 / Courtney's Eclectic Guest Room

I feel soooo bad, because Courtney from Stylecourt wrote in regarding her guest room for Design 911 like weeks ago and I am FINALLY posting her lamp now.
So here goes...I love her Guanyin figure but I think when it gets placed on a stand with a black shade its very predictable. I think it would be a great idea to make or create a stand that extends up the back (much like the photos of inspiration) with wood and paint it sea foam green or turquoise to bring out the colors in the figure. And instead of a wood base, how about a Lucite base in clear? And I would add a small white drum shade which gives the lamp a more modern feel. Hope you like it Courtney, and I promise to get to the other items in the room! Redecorating My Home

So after living with my home decorated the way it is for sometime, I have decided to change it up. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my home but I feel like I need a change. I am finding that my design style is changing (a bit) and I want my home to reflect what is inspiring me right now. I am calling it "Chinoiserie By The Ocean". I am starting with the living room and am already in the process of painting and changing out light fixtures. The new sofa is going to the upholsters this week. Chinese cabinets are going to the finishers and the new rug is getting picked this week. I will be posting the process in the next few weeks, so stay tuned...
